It's common sense man--why wouldn't a writer from a VT-laden area write an article on behalf of a VT player's plight? He's biased from the get-go.

Did this guy ever stop to think that maybe the ACC has decided to clamp down on things of this nature, regardless of past offenses of other teams in other sports? No--because he was biased from the get-go.

That's why I don't give what he's got to say much credence. I did read what he said, and it's not very valid--it's conspiracy theory stuff. I'm sick of VT people crying wolf especially when VT's been given about every concession everyone in the ACC possibly could after the shootings. Now, they do something wrong and get punished and it's overly egregious. Gimme a break.

Had this been another school's player and this would have happened against VT, David Teel would have written an article praising the ACC's decision. Mark it down. </div></div>

They allowed them into the league and rescued them from the awful Big East. I'd give anything if the ACC was like it was 4 years ago, expansion has completley ruined basketball. With the way it's setup now they need to expand the basketball season imo and allow each team to play the other twice.

The original post said the ACC gave VT concessions AFTER the 4/16 shootings.

BC is the only school basketball wise who has contended for an ACC Title since arriving, and the only school who had a legit shot to play on the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Combined VT and Miami have won one NCAA Tournament game, the two schools have won 3 games combined in the ACC Tournament. With VT's win coming over #11 seed Wake Forest, then getting upset by NC State in the next round. VT has been embarrassed two of the three seasons in the ACC Tournament, getting blown out by GT in their first go around, and last year getting beat by #10 seed NC St. Wouldn't really say they have ever contended for the title. Since joining the ACC the mighty Hokies support a 1-3 record in ACC Tournaments, 1-1 in the NCAA, and 1-1 in the NIT for a combined postseason record of 3-5. VT also failed to even make a postseason tournament in 06. Please get off your high horse and come back down to reality.

Had Tech not lost to Clemson in the regular season finale LAST YEAR, they would have finished in a three-way tie for the REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP with UNC (who they beat twice) and UVa (who they split with). I think one game out of first is as close as you can get to "contending" without actually winning.

Oh, but I forgot, according to your rules only the tournament counts, right?

Not my rules, I think the regular season champion should count. Go talk to the ACC, I somewhat agree with them now. The ACC Schedule is unbalanced, back in the day the ACC Regular Season was a much bigger accomplishment than the ACC Tournament. It's not as much anymore, it's possible you can get away with only playing Duke/UNC once now. It's always been that way, and it will never change (the tournament winner being declared champion). One of the best teams Maryland ever had was a legit national title contender and didn't even play in the NCAA Tournament. Why? They lost in the ACC Tournament (played in the state of North Carolina) to North Carolina State. They lost in overtime of that game, NC St went on to win the National Title, the only ACC Team in the tournament back then was the Tournament Champion. You VT fans claming an almost ACC Title last year is hillarious, you realize 3 teams could lay claim correct? It would be like me getting on here and proclaming Maryland the ACC Champion in 1995 when it was split like 4 ways.

You are the one who said VT has never contended for the ACC title. I simply provided evidence to the contrary, and somehow it gets turned into VT bragging?

They never have appeared in the ACC Championship please provide me with some evidence to the contrary, you cant. The regular season means nothing other than to try and lock down an at large bid for the NCAA Tournament.

Well hoard, you should know by now that anytime a VT fan comes on here talking about a win or any other accomplishment it is considered being cocky and you have to expect to be derided. For any other fan it is just conversation when they talk about their favorite teams.
